Christoffer Johnson of Therion entered a new path  late 90's with Therion. Of course Therion was one of the forefathers of Swedish death metal. After a decade the more progressive and gothic elements took over and made Therion the band it is now adays. The death metal blood in Johnson was still running however and found a way out in the formation of Demoniod. The main goal was playing pure old school Swedish Death metal.
